Getting a haircut you will still like in three weeks
A cut that looks great walking out and wrong two weeks later is usually a communication problem, not a skill problem.
Bring a reference, and say what you don't want too
A photo removes the guesswork "shorter on the sides" leaves open. Just as useful: naming a length or style you have had before and disliked. Both directions narrow the gap between what you picture and what a stylist hears.
Think about how it grows out, not just how it looks today
Some cuts hold their shape for weeks; others need a trim every fortnight to still look intentional. If you want low maintenance, say so before the first cut, not after the second one has grown out badly.
Say something before you leave the chair
If something looks off while it's still being cut, that is the moment to mention it — not in the car park. A stylist can adjust in the chair; nobody can un-cut hair once you've left.
Booking a cut
The "hairmaster" reviewers mention at The MAC18 Unisex Salon is one of the stylists available for hair services — ask when you book if you'd like to know more before your appointment.
